FAQ
Can my kids come?
We’re excited to celebrate our big day with an adults-only evening. We know traveling with family takes extra planning, so if you're bringing the kiddos along for the trip, our wedding planner has great local nanny service recommendations available for the evening. Let us know if you'd like us to share those options with you!
There are plenty of family-friendly things to do in Merida such as public beaches, historical ruins, and even a dinosaur museum.
What should I wear?
We want our celebration to be a feast for the eyes! We encourage bold colors, rich textures, expressive prints, and sculptural silhouettes.
Some quick practical notes:
-Our celebration will take place outdoors on natural, uneven ground. We highly suggest thick block heels, chic flats, or stylish dress shoes.
-Expect beautiful, warm (~80°F) and humid weather during the afternoon, with a gentle cool-down once the sun sets. Breathable fabrics like silk, linen blends, or fine cotton will keep you comfortable. A light layer for the evening is a great idea.

How do I get to the wedding venue? Do I need to rent a car?
The wedding will be held at Hacienda San Pedro Ochil, a 40-min drive from Merida. There is parking available on-site for anyone who wishes to rent a car or ride-share, but we will be providing complementary shuttles to and from the Centro.
Cars are easily rented through Hertz, Avis, or Enterprise at the airport should you want a vehicle for other activities throughout your time in Merida, but they are not required.
Do I need to know Spanish?
While helpful, you do not need to be fluent in Spanish. Most locals speak English and restaurants provide English menus upon request.
Will there be dietary options available?
Of course! The Welcome Party will feature wood-fired pizzas for all dietary-types. The wedding meal will be a mix of chosen entree and shared sides, mostly vegan. If you have a dietary restriction or allergy, please let us know in your RSVP so we can accommodate you as we finalize the menus. Having amazing food is a priority for us, so we promise you will not go hungry on our watch.
Where should we stay?
We have provided a list of suggested hotels at every price point, plus a curated list of AirBnbs to consider, but you are welcome to choose what is best for you! Our recommendations are in a part of town that has many great restaurants, bars, and shops, so you can find everything you need during your stay without going far. We strategically chose places near Bird, where the Welcome Party is hosted, and our shuttles will depart/return to this area as well.
